Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 30, 2026

At Word Hype (developed by FF Automaton), we are committed to protecting your privacy. Word Hype is an AI-powered word game featuring single-player challenges, real-time multiplayer battles, offline local language models, and premium PRO subscription benefits. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, disclosure, and protection of your information.

🛡️ Summary: Privacy & Data Protection

Word Hype combines offline-first local AI processing with secure optional cloud features:

  • Optional Sign-In: Play anonymously or log in via Google / Apple Sign-In to sync rank points and participate in online multiplayer leaderboards.
  • On-Device Local AI: AI definitions and sentence translations run directly on your device using optimized offline Large Language Models.
  • Secure Subscriptions: In-app purchases and subscriptions are handled securely through RevenueCat, Apple App Store, and Google Play Store.
  • Analytics & Ads: We use Google AdMob for non-personalized or limited ads to non-PRO users. Declining optional measurement does not remove ads, but it keeps Firebase Analytics, Meta App Events, and RevenueCat ad-revenue attribution disabled.
  • Data Control: You can delete your account data from the app and review applicable advertising privacy choices from Profile & Settings.

1. Information We Collect

A. Authentication & Account Data

When you log in using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, Firebase Auth receives basic profile details such as your display name, email address, avatar photo URL, and unique User ID (UID). You may also choose a custom nickname for multiplayer leaderboards.

B. Gameplay & Leaderboard Progress

Your mastery points, game history, and multiplayer rank stats are stored in Firebase Firestore to render global leaderboards and sync player stats across your sessions.

C. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases (Word Hype PRO)

We process subscription status and entitlement information using RevenueCat alongside Apple App Store and Google Play Store APIs. RevenueCat associates subscription status with your anonymized App User ID or Firebase UID to grant PRO access. We never store or see your credit card or financial payment credentials.

D. On-Device Storage & Local AI

Local word lists, difficulty settings, and downloaded GGUF AI models are stored locally on your device via SQLite and AsyncStorage. No text queries or generated AI definitions from local models leave your device.

E. Analytics & Diagnostic Data

With your consent, Firebase Analytics collects limited app-usage information such as app launches, sessions, engagement, app version, device and operating-system information, and advertising interactions. Word Hype also records a small number of product events, including tutorial completion, subscription starts, the first single-player, multiplayer, or local-AI chat use of the day, and completed model downloads. These events may include a plan or product identifier, purchase value and currency, language code, model identifier, or download size, but never include chat messages, generated AI text, word history, email addresses, or nicknames.

F. Advertising Data

Non-PRO users may see rewarded or interstitial ads provided by Google AdMob. Word Hype always requests non-personalized ads. When a user declines the optional purposes needed for non-personalized ads, the app may still request an eligible limited ad using the choices recorded by Google's User Messaging Platform. Limited ads disable features that require a local identifier, but IP addresses are still used to deliver the ad and limited fraud-prevention processing may still occur. Firebase Analytics, Meta App Events, and RevenueCat ad-revenue attribution remain disabled without the corresponding consent. On Apple devices, the advertising identifier is unavailable unless the user grants Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission; ads may still be served without it.

2. How We Use and Disclose Data

🔒 We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We use account and gameplay data to operate sign-in, score synchronization, multiplayer, leaderboards, subscriptions, support, security, and account deletion. We use limited analytics data to understand feature adoption and app reliability.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We disclose data only to service providers that process it for the purposes described in this policy, when you direct us to do so, or when required by law.

3. Third-Party Infrastructure Providers

Word Hype integrates only trusted industry-standard infrastructure providers strictly to deliver app functionality:

4. Account Deletion, Retention & Data Rights

You can request deletion of the account data managed by Word Hype directly within the App:

  1. Open Word Hype and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete Account.
  3. Confirm the prompt. Word Hype will begin deleting your user record, nickname, and associated Firestore account data.

If you cannot access the App, request deletion of your Word Hype account and associated data by emailing info@wordhypeapp.com from the email address linked to your account with the subject Word Hype Account Deletion. We may ask you to verify account ownership before completing the request.

You can clear local game data and downloaded AI models by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage in your device settings. Analytics, advertising, transaction, security, or aggregated records processed by third-party providers may be retained under their policies or legal obligations and may not be linked to your Word Hype account. Contact us for other privacy requests.

5. Children's Privacy

Word Hype is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.
